Abasolo

  • Category: Corn
  • Origin: Mexico
  • Author: @user24007388
  • Rating: 75/100
  • Review: “Strange, unusual experience. I really want to call flavored good tequila, but perhaps still not quite right. Despite the fact that it is corn, whiskey has minimal sweetness. The mild taste is replaced by a pleasant peppery burning sensation. [Alcohol burn] is not felt at any stage. I did not feel any palette of flavors or depth, but quite pleasant. Definitely, a lot of people won’t like it.”

Michel Couvreur Overaged Malt Whisky

  • Category: Blended Malt
  • Origin: France
  • Author: @Jhender4
  • Rating: 89/100
  • Review: “Spoiler: I really enjoy this.  Nose – milk chocolate, honey, vanilla, dates, figs and raisins, hazelnuts – very deep, lots of old sherry notes without smelling like candy. Palate – some spiciness gets added to those sweet notes, really dances on my tongue. Evolves well from baking spices to figs and dates and nuttiness and chocolate. Finish features a lot of those baking spices, the hazelnuts, more wood now.  Finish is surprisingly unsweet considering all the notes I’m getting. Really punches above the $70 I paid for it.”

Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond

  • Category: Bourbon
  • Origin: United States
  • Author: @WhiskyCIO
  • Rating: 88/100
  • Review: “Has a wheated mash bill.  Excellent bourbon with many of the qualities that I expect out of a bourbon.  Complex and softer on the palate and an easy drinker at a higher proof.”

Timorous Beastie 24 Year Old

  • Category: Blended Malt
  • Origin: Scotland
  • Author: @jdriip
  • Rating: 81/100
  • Review: “I like it, but its really hard to put notes on paper. This needs to rest a good 1/2 hour in the glass before drinking. It’s well balanced with dried fruits, nuts, baking spices, malt and a lasting finish. I think I will miss this when its gone. “

Wild Turkey Longbranch
